New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Bihar’s Bhagalpur, accusing him of remaining silent on alleged attempts to “steal votes” with the help of the Election Commission.
Speaking on the sixth day of his ‘Voter Rights Yatra’, Gandhi said, “The SIR is an attempt by Prime Minister Modi, the BJP and the Election Commission to steal your votes.”
“They are trying their best to take away your right to vote. ‘Vote chor’ Gayaji came, but he did not say a word about his government’s attempt to steal votes with the help of the Election Commission.”
Gandhi alleged that Modi’s silence indicated complicity in what he described as an organised effort to undermine the people’s voting rights.
