New Delhi: Marco Rubio on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and formally conveyed an invitation from US President Donald Trump for an official visit to the United States.
During the high-level meeting, the two leaders held detailed discussions on several key issues, including defence cooperation, trade, energy security, strategic technologies and collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.
The talks also covered the evolving situation in West Asia and the ongoing Iran crisis, with both sides exchanging views on regional stability and global security concerns.
India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and US Under Secretary Allison Hooker were also present during the meeting.
