Civil and police officials take strict action against notorious drug trafficker
Jalandhar News (Pawan Dhupar): Taking a decisive step under the Punjab government’s anti-drug initiative ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation in coordination with the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, on Tuesday demolished an illegal encroachment belonging to a notorious drug trafficker in area of Basti Guzan.
Commissioner of Police, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur said that the illegal property of Sachin Laddi, son of Yash Pal, resident of WJ-62, Basti Guzan, Jalandhar, has been demolished, who is a well-known drug smuggler. Accused Sachin Laddi has 10 FIRs registered against him under the NDPS Act.
“This action is a strong message to the drug mafia. By destroying their illegal properties, we are not only enforcing the law but also freeing our neighbourhood from the grip of drugs,” said CP Dhanpreet Kaur.
She reaffirmed the commitment of the Commissionerate Police to completely uproot the drug network and appealed to the citizens to share information related to drugs through the government’s WhatsApp number 9779-100-200, assuring complete confidentiality of the informants.
Residents welcomed this initiative of the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police. They lauded the government’s bold steps, saying, “This will send a strong signal to the drug peddlers and inspire public confidence.”
People termed such actions as an important step in the state’s ongoing war against drugs to make Punjab drug-free.
