Shubman Gill discharged from hospital after neck injury

Kolkata: Indian captain Shubman Gill has been discharged from Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital after suffering a neck injury during the first Test against South Africa.

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly met Gill at the hospital on Monday. India lost the opening match by 30 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

Gill was injured while batting on the second day of the game and was ruled out before the start of play on day three. The team management has not yet decided on his availability for the second Test, which begins on November 22 in Guwahati.

The Indian team is set to leave for Guwahati on Tuesday.
