CHANDIGARH: At least three Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers were injured after a local Congress leader allegedly opened fire during victory celebrations for the Zilla Parishad and Block Samiti late on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred while AAP workers were celebrating their electoral win. Police said the firing was indiscriminate, triggering panic at the spot.
Senior district police officials rushed to the area after receiving information. SHO Sadar Jagdev Singh said they were informed a few minutes after the incident and teams were heading to the spot. “The situation will be clear after investigation,” he said.
Confirming the shooting, the SHO said the injured were being taken to a hospital. Further details are awaited as the police assess the circumstances and identify those involved.
