Chandigarh: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to intensify its political activities in Punjab this month, with a series of visits by senior party leaders and Union ministers planned as part of its organisational and public outreach efforts.
According to party sources, BJP national president Nitin Nabin is expected to undertake his first official visit to Punjab later this month. The visit is likely to begin from Amritsar, where he is scheduled to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib and Durgiana Temple before participating in party programmes.
Ahead of the national president’s visit, two senior Union ministers are also expected to tour the state. Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar is scheduled to visit Amritsar on June 13 to attend official and party-related engagements.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is also expected to visit Punjab in the coming days as part of the party’s ongoing outreach initiatives.
Party leaders said the visits are aimed at strengthening the BJP’s organisational network, interacting with workers and reviewing preparations at the grassroots level. The leadership is expected to focus on expanding the party’s presence across different regions of the state.
Sources indicated that additional senior BJP leaders and Union ministers could be assigned responsibilities in Punjab in the coming months as the party prepares for future electoral challenges.
The visits come as the BJP seeks to consolidate its position in Punjab and build momentum through a series of organisational programmes, public engagements and leadership interactions across the state.
