Amarinder Singh Raja Warring to continue as Punjab Congress chief; party revamps state organisation

Chandigarh: The Congress has announced a major organisational reshuffle in Punjab ahead of the next Assembly elections, retaining Amarinder Singh Raja Warring as the party’s Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president.

As part of the reorganisation, the party has appointed three working presidents to strengthen its state leadership. The new working presidents are Raj Kumar Verka, Sukhwinder Singh Danny and Sangat Singh Gilzian.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has been appointed Chairman of the Campaign Committee, while senior Congress leader Vijay Inder Singla has been named Chairman of the Election Management Committee.

The organisational changes are being seen as part of the Congress’ strategy to strengthen its leadership structure and intensify preparations for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.

The party is expected to assign responsibilities to senior leaders to streamline election planning and campaign management across the state.
