Ludhiana: A man and a woman were found dead with bullet injuries inside a room at a hotel in Khanna, Ludhiana district, on Wednesday evening. A pistol was recovered from the scene, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
According to police, the two checked into the hotel early in the morning after booking a room. When there was no movement from the room for several hours, hotel staff attempted to contact them. After receiving no response, they broke open the door and found both lying in pools of blood.
Preliminary investigation suggests the man may have first shot the woman before allegedly turning the weapon on himself. However, police have not officially confirmed this theory and said all possible angles are being examined.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been established. During the investigation, it also emerged that the hotel management had allegedly allotted the room without collecting identity documents from the guests.
Police and forensic teams reached the spot soon after receiving information. The pistol has been seized, evidence has been collected, and both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the hotel, along with other evidence, to determine the exact sequence of events. Police said the cause of the incident will be established only after the investigation is completed.
