ED raids Ludhiana businessman linked to Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora, seizes key documents

Ludhiana: The Enforcement Directorate carried out raids in Ludhiana on premises linked to businessmen allegedly associated with Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora.

The raid, which began on Wednesday at locations linked to thread businessman Hira Sachdeva, continued till Thursday morning and concluded later in the evening.

During the operation, the ED reportedly seized several important documents and electronic records, which are now under examination.

According to sources, simultaneous search operations were conducted at Sachdeva’s residence in Green City and his thread manufacturing unit located on RK Road.

More businessmen may come under scanner

Sources said the investigation team received inputs during the searches that could potentially link several other businessmen from the city to the ongoing probe.

Officials suspect that the scope of the investigation may widen further in the coming days.

Betting app money trail under scrutiny

Investigators are also reportedly examining Sachdeva’s alleged role in financial transactions and management activities linked to certain betting applications.

The agency is currently tracing money flow patterns, shell companies and banking transactions connected to the case.

No official statement has yet been issued by the ED regarding the matter.

Sources further claimed that Hira Sachdeva’s name had earlier surfaced during ED raids conducted against businessman Chandrashekhar Aggarwal in Jalandhar. Based on those findings, the latest searches in Ludhiana were reportedly initiated.

The raids have triggered concern among business circles in the city.
