Punjab reshuffles IPS officers, Harmanbir Singh appointed DIG Border Range Amritsar

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has ordered the transfer of two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in a fresh administrative reshuffle.

According to orders issued by the Home Department, 2010-batch IPS officer Harmanbir Singh has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Border Range, Amritsar. Prior to this posting, he was serving with the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) in Jalandhar.

Meanwhile, IPS officer Vivek Sheel Soni, who was serving as DIG, Border Range, Amritsar, has been transferred and directed to report to the Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, until further orders.

The transfers come as part of the state government’s ongoing administrative restructuring within the police department. No official reason has been cited for the reshuffle.
