Over 50 lakh people watched my message in 2 days & thousands of students shared their emotions & suggestions: Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s outreach to students distressed by the cancellation of the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) examination has drawn a massive response, with over 50 lakh people watching his appeal within two days and thousands of aspirants sharing their emotions, struggles and suggestions on making the examination system transparent.
Sharing students’ responses on social media on Tuesday, the AAP Chief urged students to stay mentally strong and take a firm pledge to become doctors under all circumstances. He announced that the AAP-led Punjab government would provide free bus travel for students appearing in the NEET re-examination on June 21.
Sharing a video message, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal addressed NEET aspirants and said, “Just two days ago, I posted a video regarding the NEET examination, in which I invited your feelings and suggestions. More than 50 lakh people have watched it so far. Thousands of comments and messages have come in from all of you. Many among you have shared your deepest emotions. I sincerely thank you for placing so much trust in me.”
Quoting some of the responses he received, he shared, “Many people have thanked me. Sujata Suji writes, ‘Thank you sir. You are the only one who truly cares about students.’ Rahul Naik writes, ‘We genuinely needed this support at this time sir. Thank you Kejriwal Ji.’ But I ask, thank you for what? All of you are my children. I have two children and both studied at IIT Delhi. If their exams had been cancelled, I would have done exactly the same for them and fought for them too. All of you are my children, and that is why I am fighting for you the same way I would fight for my own children.”
Sharing emotional messages sent by students, he continued, “Some children have shared very deep emotions. Abu Bashar writes, ‘Hello sir, this is my third attempt. In 2024, I paid ₹1.5 lakh in coaching fees and appeared for the exam. I scored good marks, but even then the paper got leaked. This year, I studied only through self study. The exam went well and I even celebrated with my family, but now the paper has been cancelled. Honestly sir, I am very depressed.’ Vikas Yadav writes, ‘This was my fifth attempt. I worked extremely hard for this exam. Over the last two months, there were days when I slept only three hours. We were mentally prepared for May 3, but now where do I find the motivation for June 21, sir?’ One child has written, ‘I no longer have the courage left.’ What is this, students? What do you mean by saying you have no courage left?”
Giving a message of encouragement to students, the former Delhi CM said, “Strengthen your resolve that you have to become doctors, no matter what happens. No matter how many difficulties come, no matter how much struggle is required. Once you make a firm determination, all the powers of the universe begin helping you, and even God stands with you. All of you will become doctors. Under no circumstances should you lose courage. Prepare well for June 21.”
Arvind Kejriwal further said, “Some people have written to me asking, ‘Sir, can paper leaks ever stop?’ Of course they can. The Aam Aadmi Party was in government in Delhi for 10 years and not a single paper leak took place. We have been in government in Punjab for four years and not a single paper leak has taken place there either. This is because we are honest people. If the people sitting at the top of the system are honest, then papers will not leak. But if the people at the top are dishonest and corrupt, then paper leaks will keep recurring.”
Addressing concerns about financial difficulties faced by students, he stated, “Some children have written to me saying, ‘Sir, we do not even have enough money to afford bus fare.’ So I am going to Punjab on Wednesday and I will speak to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. At least in Punjab, on the day of your examination, we will make your bus travel free. Do not lose courage. We are with you and God is with you. All of you will definitely become doctors.”
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal also posted on ‘X,’ “Dear NEET students, your countless messages and the depth of your emotions have made me very emotional. I sincerely thank you for the unwavering trust you have shown in me. Stay strong during this difficult time. Make a firm resolve today itself that we will become doctors. May God bless all of you.”
