Jalandhar News (May 25): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab leader and Adampur Halka in-charge, Pawan Tinu, launched a sharp attack on the Central Government over the continuously rising prices of petrol and diesel. He said that the policies of the BJP government are against farmers, Punjab, and the common people, due to which there is a continuous increase in petrol and diesel prices and it is deeply affecting the financial condition of the common man. District President Amritpal Singh and Tarandeep Singh were also present on this occasion.
Pawan Tinu said that when the BJP was in opposition, even a slight increase in petrol and diesel prices used to lead to big protests, but now despite continuous price hikes, the silence of BJP leaders is beyond understanding. He said that in the last ten days, there has been a significant increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. Along with this, the increase in prices of commercial gas cylinders has pushed inflation to its peak.
He said that inflation has broken the backbone of the common man. Everyday essential commodities are becoming more expensive, the middle class and poor families are being affected the most.
Pawan Tinu said that the sowing of paddy is going to begin in the month of June and during this time farmers require diesel. The increase in diesel prices will significantly raise the cost of farming, which will directly impact the income of farmers. He said that farmers are already suffering economic slowdown and losses due to the policies of the Central Government, and in such a situation rising fuel prices have become a new problem for them.
He also targeted BJP leaders Ravneet Bittu, Ashwani Sharma, and Sunil Jakhar. He said that earlier these leaders used to speak on every issue, but as soon as petrol and diesel prices started rising, not a single word came out of their mouths.
He said that immediately after the West Bengal elections ended, the Central Government imposed the burden of inflation on the public. The BJP believes that the common people of the country are in its pocket and it can impose any kind of financial burden on the public. He said that the BJP is adopting every possible tactic to benefit big corporate houses, while the common people are continuously facing economic crisis.
Pawan Tinu said that municipal corporation, municipal council, and municipal panchayat elections are going to be held in Punjab on May 26. He appealed to the people and said that the public should give a strong response to the BJP in this election and express their democratic decision against inflation and anti-people policies.
