Ottawa: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney appeared to poke fun at US President Donald Trump during a public address, imitating a hand gesture frequently associated with the American president.
The light-hearted moment came as the 61-year-old Canadian prime minister was speaking about a C$70 billion clean-energy package, which he described as equivalent to “18 Hoover Dams”.
While repeating the phrase “18 Hoover Dams”, Carney moved his hands repeatedly back and forth, mimicking Trump’s well-known gesture. The audience responded with laughter and loud applause.
After the reaction from the crowd, Carney paused briefly, smiled and said, “That’s enough.” He then repeated the hand gesture once more before continuing with his speech.
