New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday fixed July 1 as the next hearing date in the case related to the BBC documentary The Killing Call, after the family of late Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh alias Sidhu Moosewala failed to respond.

During the proceedings, Advocate Balwant Singh Bhatia appeared on behalf of the BBC, along with BBC anchor Ashleen Kaur and reporter Ankur Jain, in the Mansa court.

The BBC had previously rejected the claims made by Moosewala’s family regarding the documentary in the last hearing.

The delay in proceedings occurred as Advocate Satinderpal Singh Mittal, representing the Moosewala family, failed to respond under Order 7 Rule 11 of the Civil Procedure Code (CPC).
