New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday claimed that after the ‘atom bomb’, now the ‘hydrogen bomb’ is coming, in reference to his revelations on alleged ‘vote theft’. Speaking at the conclusion of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not be able to show his face to the people once the ‘hydrogen bomb’ of vote theft is exposed.
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha described ‘vote theft’ as the theft of rights, reservation, employment, education, and the future of the youth. Rahul Gandhi also alleged that people’s ration cards and land would be taken away if votes are stolen. He added, “We will not allow them to destroy the Constitution,” reiterating that last year’s Maharashtra Assembly elections were also stolen. He warned BJP leaders, saying, “Get ready, a hydrogen bomb is coming. Your vote theft is going to be exposed in front of the whole country.”
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, and several other opposition leaders participated in a march from Gandhi Maidan to Dak Bangla Chowk in an open vehicle. The ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ covered over 1,300 km, passing through more than 110 assembly constituencies across 25 districts.
The march included participation from Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, chief ministers of Congress-ruled states, and several senior party leaders. The yatra, which began from Sasaram on August 17, is being seen as a major campaign by the grand alliance ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections later this year.
The yatra passed through districts including Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Lakhisarai, Munger, Katihar, Purnea, Supaul, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, and Bhojpur.
