Kapurthala: Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal has constructed a special boat to assist flood-affected areas, which is proving crucial in ongoing relief operations.
The boat, capable of carrying up to 25 tons, has ferried five tractors and a car to safer locations in the past two days. Sant Seechewal himself operates the boat during these relief efforts.
Varinder Singh Khadoor, who built the boat, said this was his first major boat-building project, as he previously only repaired small boats. The boat’s design was provided by Sant Seechewal.
The boat’s unique feature is its ability to remain afloat in water over one foot deep even when fully loaded. Its length and width provide stability, and it can be operated easily with a standard boat engine.
