New Delhi: The nominations for the International Emmy Awards have been announced, with Netflix’s Amar Singh Chamkila securing two major nods. Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has been nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of the late Punjabi singer Chamkila.
The film, directed by Imtiaz Ali, has also earned a nomination in the TV Movie/Mini-Series category.
Released on Netflix in 2024, Amar Singh Chamkila stars Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role alongside Parineeti Chopra. The biographical drama portrays the life, rise to fame, and tragic murder of Punjab’s iconic singer Chamkila. The film features music composed by A.R. Rahman.
With these nominations, Diljit Dosanjh and Amar Singh Chamkila have marked a significant achievement for Indian cinema at the global stage.
