Zirakpur: Police conducted a raid at a spa centre on VIP Road in Zirakpur on June 10 and rescued six women, including two foreign nationals, as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities at the establishment.
According to officials, the action was initiated after police received information suggesting that activities at the spa centre may not have been operating in accordance with prescribed regulations.
A police team reached the premises and carried out a search operation. Officers also questioned employees and other individuals present at the location as part of the investigation.
Authorities have begun verifying the identity documents, legal status and other records of the women rescued during the operation. Police are also examining the spa centre’s licence, employee records, registers and other relevant documentation.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ghazalpreet Kaur confirmed that the raid was conducted on the basis of specific information received by the police. She said six women, including two foreign nationals, were brought out of the premises during the operation.
Officials stated that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly investigated and that appropriate legal action will be taken if any violations of law or regulatory norms are found.
Police added that action against the spa centre management and any other persons found responsible would depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
The inquiry is currently underway, and authorities have not yet released further details regarding the nature of the alleged violations.
