KAITHAL: A tragic incident occurred during the two-day Rang e-Noor event at NIILM University when a young man died after falling while arriving at the program. Punjabi singer Babbu Mann had performed at the event, which also featured Haryanvi singers during the closing ceremony.
A large crowd had gathered from Kaithal and nearby districts and villages to watch the performances. About 200 private security personnel and an equal number of police officers were deployed to manage the crowd. Despite these measures, the crowd became uncontrollable, breaking barricades and approaching the main stage. Police had to use mild force to manage the situation.
The young man reportedly fell while getting off a bus and was seriously injured. He is believed to have died on the way to the hospital.
The event also caused a traffic jam on the Hisar-Chandigarh National Highway for nearly an hour. Police have been asked to streamline traffic management for future events.
