Jalandhar police commissioner meets family of 13-year-old murder victim, assures strict action

JALANDHAR: Three days after the murder of a 13-year-old girl in Jalandhar West, Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur visited the victim’s house and held a closed-door meeting with the family. She assured them that action against the accused will be taken soon.

Kaur said disciplinary action against police personnel, if any, will follow once the inquiry is completed. ADCP Aakrishi Jain and DCP Naresh Dogra also accompanied her during the visit.

Sharing the family’s grief, the officials said no accused would be spared and added that strict measures would be taken against any officer found negligent.

The minor girl had left home to visit a friend but did not return, prompting the family to alert the police. Locals reported seeing her enter the accused’s house.

Police initially searched the premises but found nothing. Later, area residents carried out their own search and discovered her body in the bathroom of the accused’s house. They suspected that accused attempted rape and later killed her.
