Kunming: At least 11 workers were killed and two others injured after a train ran over a team carrying out maintenance work on a railway track in Kunming, southwestern China, in the early hours of Thursday, officials said.
According to China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd., the accident occurred at Luoyangzhen station in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province.
The workers were on the track when the train approached, leading to the fatal collision.
Authorities said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident. Railway operations at the station have since resumed.
