Sultanpur Lodhi: The issuance of Chief Minister Health Insurance Cards worth up to ₹10 lakh has officially begun at Nirmal Kutia, Holy Bein, Sultanpur Lodhi. The initiative was jointly inaugurated by Rajya Sabha Member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal and Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjeev Bhagat.
The card-making process will continue for several consecutive days at Nirmal Kutia. Citizens are required to bring their Aadhaar Card and Voter ID Card for themselves and their family members to avail of the facility.
While inaugurating the health insurance card drive, Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal expressed his gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann for launching such a comprehensive health insurance scheme. He stated that the scheme has brought significant benefits to the people of Punjab and described it as a landmark step in the state’s healthcare sector.
Sant Seechewal emphasized that such extensive healthcare facilities are rarely available even in developed countries, and praised the Punjab government for providing advanced medical support to its citizens. He urged the public to take maximum advantage of the scheme, explaining that the card enables treatment for several serious illnesses. Cardholders can receive cashless treatment at all government hospitals across Punjab, as well as at empanelled private hospitals.
Civil Surgeon of Civil Hospital Kapurthala, Dr. Sanjeev Bhagat, also extended special thanks to Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann for his far-sighted vision and exemplary work in strengthening healthcare services. He stated that under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme, every family in Punjab will be covered with health insurance up to ₹10 lakh.
Dr. Bhagat clarified that the scheme is beneficial for all sections of society, including government employees. No income certificate is required to apply for the card, and treatment for pre-existing diseases is also covered under the scheme.
He appealed to residents to visit the camp with their Aadhaar Card and Voter ID to get their health cards prepared. The Civil Surgeon further informed that the camp at Nirmal Kutia, Sultanpur Lodhi, will continue for several days. On the occasion, ACS Dr. Anu Sharma, Amarinder Singh from Civil Hospital Sultanpur Lodhi, and a large number of local residents were present.
