New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict in West Asia during the 132nd episode of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, warning of a potential global fuel crisis.
He cautioned that the war could lead to a major disruption in petrol and diesel supplies worldwide, which would also impact India. The Prime Minister urged all political parties to refrain from politicising the issue and instead prioritise the welfare of 1.4 billion Indians.
Modi highlighted that over one crore Indians are living in Gulf countries, with lakhs of Indian families dependent on relatives working in the region. He also thanked Gulf nations for supporting Indian citizens during the ongoing crisis.
He said that India’s strengthened global partnerships over the past decade are helping the country effectively manage external challenges.
Calling for unity, the Prime Minister urged citizens to stand together in the face of emerging global uncertainties and ensure collective resilience against potential disruptions.
