Iran President writes open letter to Americans, questions US role amid ongoing war

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued an open letter addressed to the American public, urging them to look beyond “war propaganda”.

In the letter, Pezeshkian questioned whether the US is truly prioritising its “America First” policy or acting as a proxy for Israel, even at the cost of American lives.

He appealed to US citizens to move beyond political rhetoric and reassess their understanding of Iran’s past, present and future aspirations, calling for a path based on truth, dignity and mutual understanding rather than conflict.

The Iranian President also asserted that Iran has never initiated war in its modern history and has not pursued aggression, expansionism or domination.

He described US-Iran relations as among the most misunderstood in the world.

The letter comes just hours before US President Donald Trump is expected to address the nation, with speculation of a major announcement related to the ongoing conflict.
