Chandigarh: The Punjab government has announced the transfer of 6 IPS officers on Monday, following the earlier reshuffling of IAS officers. This change includes the replacement of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau chief and the appointment of a new Special DGP for Law & Order. Prior to this, 13 IAS officers were also transferred, including the Deputy Commissioners of four districts. The orders are effective immediately.
New Appointments: Dr. Sharad Satya Chauhan has been appointed as the new Chief Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau. Additionally, P.K. Sinha has been appointed as the Special DGP for Law & Order. He will assume office on May 1, 2024, after the retirement of the current officer Arpit Shukla.
Gurmeet Singh Chauhan, who was the DIG of the AGTF, has been removed from his position, and his services have been temporarily assigned to the DGP. His new posting will be decided later.
