Focus on smooth wheat procurement, infrastructure boost and effective implementation of welfare schemes
Jalandhar News (April 16): Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varjeet Walia on Thursday outlined his key priorities aimed at transforming Jalandhar into a progressive district from a development perspective.
Interacting with local media at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner shared a comprehensive roadmap focusing on agriculture, infrastructure and good governance.
The DC stated that his foremost priority is to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the ongoing wheat procurement season. He informed that the district administration has already made elaborate arrangements across grain markets to facilitate hassle-free procurement. Assuring farmers of full support, Mr. Walia said that no farmer would face any difficulty in selling their produce.
Highlighting infrastructure development as another major focus area, he emphasized that concerted efforts would be made to strengthen civic amenities and accelerate ongoing projects. “No stone will be left unturned in giving a major push to infrastructure in the district,” he added.
The Deputy Commissioner further stressed the importance of implementing flagship programmes of the Punjab Government at the grassroots level. He specifically mentioned the Mavan Dhiyan Satkar Yojna and Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojna, adding that smooth registration of beneficiaries under these schemes would be ensured.
Reiterating his commitment to transparent and responsive governance, the DC lauded the media as the fourth pillar of democracy, playing a crucial role in highlighting public issues for timely redressal.
