Former Congress MLA and BJP Panchayati Cell Chairman Balwinder Singh Laddi Joins AAP in Presence of Manish Sisodia & Aman Arora
Chandigarh News (7th July 2026): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered a major political setback in Punjab on Tuesday as former MLA from Sri Hargobindpur, Balwinder Singh Laddi, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with his supporters. Balwinder Singh Laddi was inducted into the party in the presence of senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, and CM Bhagwant Mann’s OSD Rajbir Singh.
Welcoming Balwinder Singh Laddi into the AAP family, AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia said, “The AAP family is expanding continuously as people across Punjab are placing their faith in the honest politics and people-centric governance of the Bhagwant Mann-led government.”
Meanwhile, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora said the growing support for AAP reflects the people’s confidence in the government’s transparent administration, development-oriented policies and commitment to the welfare of every section of society. “Balwinder Singh Laddi’s experience and public connect would further strengthen the party organisation in Punjab,” he added.
Balwinder Singh Laddi served as the Congress MLA from Sri Hargobindpur during the 2017-2022 term. Balwinder Singh Laddi later joined the BJP and served as Chairman of the BJP Panchayati Cell and General Secretary of the BJP SC Morcha before joining AAP.
After joining AAP, Balwinder Singh Laddi said, “I am impressed by the Bhagwant Mann government’s transparent governance and development-oriented policies. Punjab needs clean and honest politics, and under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann and the guidance of the party leadership, AAP is working sincerely for the welfare and prosperity of the state.”
Balwinder Singh Laddi assured the party leadership that he would work with complete dedication to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and take the government’s pro-people policies to every household in Punjab.
