Chandigarh: Panic gripped Punjab’s Moga district on Wednesday after unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly hurled a suspected hand grenade at Sadar Police Station on the Moga–Ferozepur GT Road. The explosive, however, reportedly did not detonate, preventing any casualties or damage.
According to sources, the suspected grenade failed to explode, and no blast was heard in the area. Soon after information about the incident emerged, journalists reached the police station, but the main gate had been closed while security personnel and investigation teams remained deployed at the spot.
Senior officials, including the district police chief, were contacted for confirmation, but no official statement had been issued at the time of filing this report.
Police teams have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the suspects and establish the sequence of events. No breakthrough has been reported so far.
The circumstances surrounding the suspected grenade attack are being investigated, and authorities are yet to confirm the exact nature of the object recovered.
