Punjab govt reshuffles 8 IAS officers, Home, Personnel, PUDA and GMADA see major changes

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring eight senior IAS officers with immediate effect. The orders, issued by Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha, reassign responsibilities across several key departments, including Home Affairs, Personnel, Vigilance, GMADA and PUDA.

Among the key changes, 2008-batch IAS officer Neelima has been shifted from the Home Affairs Department and appointed Secretary, Personnel Department. She has also been given the additional charge of Secretary, Vigilance Department.

Sakshi Sahni (2014 batch), who is serving as Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, and Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Nodal Officer for the state’s anti-drug campaign. She has been relieved of her charge as Chief Administrator of PUDA.

Sandeep Rishi (2015 batch) has been transferred from the post of Municipal Commissioner, Jalandhar, and appointed Chief Administrator of GMADA, SAS Nagar.

Parampal Singh (2016 batch) has been shifted from the Employment Generation and Skill Development Department and appointed Special Secretary, Home Affairs.

Neeru Katyal Gupta (2016 batch) has been appointed Chief Administrator of PUDA. She will also hold the additional charge of Director, Town and Country Planning.

Nikas Kumar (2020 batch), who was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpur, has been appointed Municipal Commissioner, Jalandhar.

Sonam (2023 batch) will continue in the Excise and Taxation Department while also taking over the additional charge of Additional Commissioner, Taxation-I, Patiala.

Rakesh Kumar Meena (2023 batch) has been transferred from the post of Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bathinda, and appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpur.

The government has directed all transferred officers to assume charge of their new postings immediately. Officers who have not been assigned a new posting in the latest transfer list have been instructed to report to the Secretary, Personnel Department.
