Kapurthala to get holistic development under AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann- Mundian, Chabbewal
Kapurthala News (July 10): Narinder Singh Manso on Friday assumed charge as the Mayor of the Municipal Corporation here in the presence of Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and Member Parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal. Kamakshi Duggal and Sameer Sharma also took charge as the Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor, respectively.
After assuming office, Manso expressed gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party for reposing faith in him. He said he would discharge his responsibilities with utmost dedication, honesty and commitment while ensuring a transparent, accountable and citizen-centric administration in the Municipal Corporation. He said serving the people and ensuring the prompt redressal of public grievances would remain his foremost priority. Manso added that the MC would ensure ultra modern civic infrastructure and amenities to the residents of Kapurthala.
Emphasizing cleanliness as a key priority, the newly elected Mayor said he would make all out efforts to making Kapurthala a garbage-free and model city through efficient waste management and improved civic services. He also asserted that corruption and inefficiency in service delivery would not be tolerated and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found indulging in corrupt practices.
Congratulating the newly elected Mayor and his team, Hardeep Singh Mundian said that the Punjab Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was continuously working to make the state ‘Rangla Punjab’ by ensuring all round development in every sector across Punjab. Member Parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal also expressed confidence that Mayor Manso, along with the Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor, would work with dedication to accelerate the city’s development and ensure better civic amenities for the residents. He also assured that the Punjab Government would also provide requisite funds for the development of this heritage city. Prominent amongst other present on the occasion included District Planning Board Chairman Sarbjeet Singh Lubana, Halka in-charge Sultanpur Lodhi Sajjan Singh Cheema, Halka Incharge Kapurthala Advocate Karambir Singh Chandi. Senior AAP leader Parvinder Singh Dhot besides councillors and dignitaries form the district.
