Amritsar: Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj has congratulated Sikh athlete Gurindervir Singh for breaking India’s national record in the 100-metre race and becoming the country’s fastest runner by clocking 10.09 seconds.
The Jathedar said the entire Sikh community feels proud of the achievement of turbaned Sikh athlete Gurindervir Singh and described him as an inspiration for Sikh youth across the world.
He said young people should take motivation from such achievements and work hard to attain success and excellence in life.
Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj further stated that it is a matter of pride that Sikh youth from Punjab are making remarkable achievements nationally and internationally in different fields.
He also urged youngsters to remain engaged in education, sports, hard work and voluntary service in gurdwaras, while staying away from the menace of drugs.
