District Legal Services Authority, Jalandhar Celebrates International Yoga Day with Enthusiasm

Punjab E News: Following the visionary directives of the National Legal Services Authority and the Punjab Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority, Jalandhar, organized a mega event to celebrate International Yoga Day today. The session was aimed at promoting physical wellness, mental resilience, and holistic health among the legal and judicial fraternity.

The event was held under the leadership and guidance of Ms. Priya Sood, Learned District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Jalandhar & Sh. Rahul Kumar, CJM-cum-Secretary, The occasion saw the active participation of key judicial dignitaries, including: Sh. Parminder Singh Rai, Learned Additional District & Sessions Judge, Jalandhar, Sh. Parsmeeti Rishi, Ld. Special Railway Magistrate, Jalandhar, Sh. Arjun Singh Sandhu, Ms. Samiksha Jain, Sh. Jaspreet Singh, all Ld. JMICs/CJJDs, Jalandhar, Sh. Naveet Kumar Dhall, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Jalandhar, Sh. Jagan Nath, Senior Assistant, District Legal Services Authority, Jalandhar & dedicated members of the Judicial Staff also turned up in large numbers to support the wellness initiative.

During the event, professional Yoga Instructors Ms. Rekha, Ms. Renu Kapoor & Ms. Saroj Sethi, Members Mahila Pitanjli Yog Samiti (Haridwar) Jalandhar led the gathering, demonstrating various yoga asanas, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques designed to alleviate stress and improve focus. The instructors guided the participants through proper alignment and explained the long-term health benefits of each exercise.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Priya Sood, Ld. District & Sessions Judge, emphasised that yoga is a vital tool for achieving a balanced mind and body. She noted that given the high-pressure environment of the legal profession, integrating yoga into daily routines is essential for maintaining optimal mental health and professional efficiency, She elaborated the availability of Legal Aid, Mediation, importance of Lok Adalats. Sh. Parsmeeti Rishi, Ld. Special Railway Magistrate, Jalandhar, expressed his gratitude to the instructors, judicial officers, staff, and bar members for making the celebration a grand success. He reiterated that District Legal Services Authority, Jalandhar remains committed to both spreading legal awareness and fostering health and well-being within the judicial system.

The session concluded with a collective pledge by all attendees to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives for a healthier, stress-free future.
