Amritsar: Ahead of the upcoming municipal council elections in Punjab, the state government has removed Executive Officer (EO) Randeep Singh Waraich from the additional charge of Majitha Nagar Council following directions received from the Punjab State Election Commission.
According to orders issued by the Local Government Department, Waraich, who is currently posted at Tarn Taran Nagar Council, has been relieved from the additional responsibility of Majitha with immediate effect.
The government has now assigned the additional charge of Majitha Nagar Council to Anil Chopra along with his existing posting.
The orders issued by Local Government Department Secretary Manjit Singh Brar direct the concerned officer to submit his joining report at the new place of posting on or before May 18.
The action comes after a communication received from the State Election Commission ahead of the local body polls in the state.
