Chandigarh: A shocking incident has surfaced from near Dhanaula, where a man was allegedly killed by his younger brother using a tractor in a dispute over money and farmland.
The deceased has been identified as Manjinder Singh (50), while the accused, Sukhwinder Singh (45), is currently absconding.
According to police and family members, the brothers had been in conflict for the past four days over nearly ₹1 lakh and a tree standing in their field.
The incident occurred when Manjinder Singh was on his way to arrange a combine harvester for wheat harvesting. His wife, Paramjit Kaur, alleged that Sukhwinder Singh came from behind and ran a Swaraj tractor over him multiple times.
She further claimed that when she rushed out on hearing screams and tried to save her husband, the accused also attempted to run the tractor over her.
Manjinder Singh died on the spot due to the brutal attack.
The victim is survived by his wife and a 26-year-old son, who is currently living abroad.
Police Station SHO Gurvinder Singh said a case has been registered and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
