Punjab IAS officer Vipul Ujjwal’s Panchayat Advancement Index wins National e-Governance Gold Award

New Delhi: Punjab cadre IAS officer Vipul Ujjwal has earned national recognition after the Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) won the Gold Award at the National e-Governance Awards 2026.

The award was presented during the 29th National e-Governance Conference held in Jaipur, recognising the Panchayat Advancement Index as one of India’s most impactful digital governance initiatives.

The Panchayat Advancement Index is India’s largest rural governance data platform and is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India.

The platform has been developed to strengthen data-driven governance, improve monitoring of rural development and support evidence-based decision-making at the panchayat level.

The national recognition is being seen as a significant achievement for IAS officer Vipul Ujjwal, whose efforts played a key role in the development and implementation of the initiative.
