New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered a dominant nine-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in an IPL clash in New Delhi, powered by a devastating bowling display.
Delhi collapse for 75
Delhi Capitals were bundled out for just 75 runs in 16.3 overs, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/5) and Josh Hazlewood (4/12) leading the charge.
Abishek Porel top-scored with 30, while only David Miller (19) and Kyle Jamieson (12) managed double digits, as Delhi’s batting line-up failed against disciplined swing bowling.
RCB chase in just 6.3 overs
In reply, RCB chased down the target in just 6.3 overs, losing only one wicket. Devdutt Padikkal smashed an unbeaten 34 off 13 balls, while Virat Kohli remained not out on 23 off 15.
Second spot strengthened
With this emphatic win, RCB secured their sixth victory in eight matches, strengthening their hold on second place in the points table. Delhi, meanwhile, slumped to their fifth loss in eight games.
The victory also marked one of the fastest successful chases in IPL history (by balls remaining), helping RCB avenge their earlier defeat to Delhi on April 18.
