Deputy Commissioner reiterates Punjab Government’s commitment to boosting industrial growth in the district
Jalandhar News (April 22):Â In a major push to support local industry, the district administration has approved incentives for 12 industries amounting to Rs. 1.85 crore under the Industrial and Business Development Policy, providing significant financial relief to enterprises in the region.
The approvals were granted during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia. The incentives include benefits such as GST reimbursement, EDC exemption, CGTMSE fee reimbursement, stamp duty reimbursement, freight assistance and capital subsidy.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to strengthening industrial growth and creating a conducive environment for businesses.
Reviewing key industrial issues during the meeting, Mr. Walia directed officials to undertake field visits to various industrial areas and resolve concerns in coordination with industry representatives. He said that such proactive measures would further improve infrastructure and enhance ease of doing business in the district.
Highlighting the role of industry in economic development, the Deputy Commissioner said that several units have already made substantial investments in Jalandhar by setting up manufacturing facilities. He assured that the administration is committed to facilitating investors and ensuring prompt approvals for new projects through a streamlined mechanism.
Encouraging the business community to invest in the district, Mr. Walia said that Jalandhar offers an industry-friendly ecosystem. He added that increased investments would not only accelerate economic growth but also generate employment opportunities, thereby benefiting the region as a whole.
