PM Modi marks 25 years as head of government, reiterates commitment to public service

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday marked 25 years since he first took charge as head of a government and reiterated his commitment to serving the country with dedication.

Modi began the day by offering prayers at the Shri Vinayak Temple in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi. After the visit, he said he had prayed for the happiness, peace and good health of people across the country.

He also expressed hope that the blessings of Lord Ganesha would bring well-being to everyone and that India would continue to progress.

Modi first took oath as Gujarat chief minister on October 7, 2001, beginning a political journey that later saw him serve as the state’s chief minister for more than 12 years.

Under his leadership, the BJP won three consecutive Gujarat Assembly elections before Modi moved to national politics. In 2014, the BJP secured a majority in the Lok Sabha elections under his leadership, followed by victories that enabled the party-led government to return to power in 2019 and 2024.

Marking the milestone, Modi reaffirmed his resolve to continue working for the country with commitment and dedication
