Ludhiana: A day before the last date for filing nominations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced Jeevan Gupta as its candidate for the Ludhiana West by-election.
Gupta, a prominent Hindu leader and the current general secretary of the Punjab BJP, is considered to have a strong organisational base within the party. BJP leaders are hopeful that his close association with grassroots workers will give him an advantage in the constituency.
