NEET paper leak case: CBI makes 10th arrest, Maharashtra coaching director held

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday made the 10th arrest in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case by arresting Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar from Latur.

According to officials, the accused is the director of a chemistry coaching institute and was allegedly part of an organised network involved in leaking and circulating the NEET question paper.

The CBI said a leaked copy of the NEET-UG paper was recovered from Motegaonkar’s mobile phone during searches conducted on Sunday.

Investigators claim that Motegaonkar, along with other accused persons, had obtained the question paper and answer key as early as April 23 and further distributed them to multiple individuals.

The agency had earlier questioned him for nearly eight hours at his residence on May 15.

Motegaonkar operates Renukai Chemistry Classes (RCC), a coaching network with centres across seven districts in Maharashtra. On Sunday, the CBI also raided RCC’s main office and seized several documents and electronic devices.

According to reports, the coaching network has an annual turnover of nearly ₹100 crore. Investigators suspect that NEET aspirants were provided leaked questions through the institute and that several doctors from Latur allegedly purchased the leaked paper.

So far, 10 accused have been arrested in the NEET-UG paper leak case, including six from Maharashtra.
