New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has come out in support of his brother-in-law Robert Vadra after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a chargesheet in the Shikohpur land scam case.

“My brother-in-law Robert Vadra has been harassed by the government for the last 10 years. This new chargesheet is part of the same political conspiracy. I stand with Robert, Priyanka, and their children as they face bullying and harassment again,” Gandhi said in a statement.

“I am sure they will face this pressure with dignity and courage. In the end, truth will prevail,” he added.

This is the first time that Rahul Gandhi has openly spoken in favour of Vadra on a public platform in connection with the case.

The case relates to a disputed land deal in 2008 in Shikohpur village of Gurugram. According to the ED, Vadra purchased 3.53 acres of land for Rs 7.5 crore, which was later sold for Rs 58 crore.
