Court to hear final arguments against Sajjan Kumar in 1984 anti-Sikh riots case on Oct 29

New Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court has fixed October 29 for final arguments in the case against former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The matter involves FIRs registered at Janakpuri and Vikas Puri police stations.

Special Judge DIG Vinay Singh listed the case for final arguments after Sajjan Kumar’s counsel concluded defence evidence.

Kumar had earlier recorded his statement on July 7, denying the allegations and claiming he was not present at the riot site. He alleged he had been falsely implicated in the case.

The Janakpuri case pertains to the killing of two Sikhs, Sohan Singh and his son-in-law Avtar Singh, on November 1, 1984. The Vikaspuri case involves the burning of Gurcharan Singh on November 2, 1984.
