New Delhi: The central government has ordered a forensic audit of all records of Al Falah University and directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other financial probe agencies to investigate the money transactions of the Haryana-based institution. The decision was taken after a high-level meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Centre also reviewed the ongoing investigation into the November 10 blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, which killed 13 people and injured several others. Following the development, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has suspended the membership of Al Falah University after its name surfaced in the blast case.
According to intelligence agencies, a major terror conspiracy has been uncovered, linking the university to the deadly car blast. Sources said the suspects had planned to prepare around 32 vehicles loaded with explosives to carry out simultaneous attacks at multiple locations.
Investigators revealed that work had already begun to modify an i20 and an EcoSport for use in the planned explosions. Agencies are now probing whether more vehicles were being manufactured as part of a larger conspiracy to execute serial blasts.
“We have found evidence that after the i20 and EcoSport, 32 other vehicles have explosives fitted,” an intelligence official told ANI.
