New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled a meeting after December 6 to discuss the future roles of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will also attend.
According to a media report, a board official said the meeting will focus on clarifying the roles of Rohit and Kohli for the 2027 ODI World Cup and outlining the team’s long-term strategy.
The final ODI of the three-match series between India and South Africa will be played in Visakhapatnam on December 6. The meeting is expected to take place either in Visakhapatnam or Ahmedabad soon after.
Sources said both senior batsmen may be advised to prepare a plan to maintain fitness and form. The board may also suggest that they participate in more domestic cricket to stay match-ready.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have already retired from Tests and T20 Internationals and currently feature only in ODIs.
