Nitin Nabin becomes BJP’s 12th national president; PM Modi congratulates him at party headquarters

New Delhi: Nitin Nabin was officially declared the 12th national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi.

Following the announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally escorted Nabin to the BJP president’s office. In a symbolic gesture, Modi held his hand, seated him on the chair of the party president, offered him sweets and later met members of his family.

At the BJP headquarters, Nitin Nabin welcomed the Prime Minister, with former national president J P Nadda also present. The event was attended by chief ministers of BJP- and NDA-ruled states, state unit presidents and senior party workers.

After the election officer formally handed over the certificate of election, Prime Minister Modi garlanded Nabin and congratulated him on assuming the party’s top organisational post.

The occasion marked the formal transition of leadership at the BJP’s central command, with senior leaders expressing confidence that the party would further strengthen under Nabin’s leadership.
