New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has begun ticket sales for the semi-finals and final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup from 7 pm on Tuesday.
In a significant move, the ICC has announced a special refund policy: if Pakistan qualify for the semi-final or final, ticket holders for matches scheduled in Kolkata and Ahmedabad will receive a full refund. This is because Pakistan’s matches are planned to be held in Sri Lanka instead of India.
Possible venue changes
The first semi-final, scheduled for March 4, will be held either in Kolkata or Colombo.
If Pakistan qualify, they will play their semi-final in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
If Sri Lanka qualify and face a team other than India, that match will also be shifted to Colombo.
If neither condition applies, the first semi-final will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Final venue may shift
The final is scheduled for March 8 in Ahmedabad. However, if Pakistan reach the final, the match will be shifted from Narendra Modi Stadium to R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In that case, spectators who purchased tickets for the Ahmedabad final will receive full refunds.
The second semi-final on March 5 will be held as planned at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Fans can purchase tickets through the ICC’s official website.
