New Delhi: Escalating war tensions in West Asia disrupted air traffic at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday morning, leading to the cancellation of 80 international flights.
Airport officials said the cancelled services include 36 departures and 44 arrivals. Airspace restrictions have severely impacted flight operations, forcing Emirates flight EK 513 bound for Dubai to return to Delhi mid-air.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), which operates the airport, informed passengers through social media that several westbound international flights may face delays or schedule changes due to the evolving situation.
Data from the past three days show that Indian airlines have cancelled 1,117 international flights amid the crisis. However, Emirates flight EK 512 from Dubai landed in Delhi on Tuesday morning, indicating a gradual resumption of services.
Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for updated schedules as authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
