Amit Shah to address BJP ‘Badlav Rally’ in Moga ahead of Punjab polls, singer Mankirt Aulakh attends

Chandigarh: Union home minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Badlav Rally’ in Moga on Monday as the party steps up its campaign ahead of the 2027 Punjab assembly elections.

According to party leaders, the rally venue has been set up over nearly 85 acres, with organisers aiming to draw a crowd of around one lakh people. Shah is expected to reach the venue around 1 pm.

Ahead of the event, Shah posted on social media stating that the people of Punjab want change. He alleged that the state, known for its soldiers, farmers and hardworking people, has been pushed into corruption, drugs and crime under the Aam Aadmi Party government.

He also claimed that law and order and development have suffered under what he described as a “remote-controlled government” and said he was looking forward to interacting with people at the rally.

Meanwhile, speculation surfaced that Punjabi singer Mankirt Aulakh might join the Bharatiya Janata Party during the event.

However, Aulakh dismissed the reports, clarifying that he had come only to perform at the rally. The singer said he is not joining any political party and added that as an artist he performs for people associated with all parties.
