New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday arrested two more accused in connection with the NEET-UG 2026 examination paper leak case, taking the total number of arrests in the matter to 13.
A doctor from Latur, Dr Manoj Shirure, was arrested for allegedly playing a key role in helping three students, including the son of a coaching centre owner, obtain leaked chemistry questions from accused PV Kulkarni.
Another accused arrested is Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, a physics faculty member at Pune-based Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy (APMA). Investigators alleged that he received leaked physics questions of the NEET-UG 2026 examination from arrested accused Manisha Havaldar.
The CBI has so far conducted raids at 49 locations across the country and seized several incriminating documents, laptops and mobile phones. Agency sources said detailed analysis of the seized material is currently underway.
The agency had registered the case on May 12 based on a written complaint filed by the Higher Education Department under the Union Education Ministry regarding the alleged leak of the NEET-UG 2026 examination paper. Soon after the FIR was registered, special teams were constituted and raids were carried out at multiple locations nationwide, while several suspects were detained and questioned.
So far, 13 accused have been arrested from Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune, Latur and Ahmednagar in connection with the case. The investigation is continuing with multiple specialised teams working jointly on the probe.
