Kapurthala: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has registered a comprehensive victory in the Kapurthala Municipal Corporation by winning all three top posts, including Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
AAP candidate Narinder Singh Manso was elected Mayor of the Kapurthala Municipal Corporation. Kamakshi Duggal was elected Senior Deputy Mayor, while Sameer Sharma secured the post of Deputy Mayor.
The clean sweep is being seen as a significant political boost for the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, strengthening its position in Kapurthala’s local body ahead of future political contests.
Following their victory, the newly elected office-bearers thanked the councillors for their support and pledged to work for the overall development of Kapurthala city. They said their priority would be improving civic amenities, strengthening public services and ensuring welfare-oriented development for residents.
The victory further consolidates the Aam Aadmi Party’s hold over local governance in Kapurthala, with the party claiming that the mandate reflects the confidence of the city’s residents in its policies and governance.
